The Pro7 TV station visited the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research and had Marc Tittgemeyer explain why unhealthy food, which is rich in carbohydrates and fats, is particularly appetizing to us. In a joint study with researchers at Yale University, they showed that the combination of carbohydrates and fats has a greater impact on the reward system in our brain than other foods.
