How sugar changes our eating habits
Sugar manipulates our brains and increases our cravings for sweets
Welcome to the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research
We study how the body controls weight and glucose metabolism, with the long-term goal of developing treatments for diabetes and obesity.
Our studies need participants
Support our scientific research by becoming a volunteer
Neuronal regulation of energy metabolism
Our overarching research goal is the precise description of the physiological regulatory principles of energy and glucose metabolism as well as the genetic and environmental factors that alter this self-regulation and lead to disease.
