Talk by Kim Ravnskjær, PhD, University of Southern Denmark

Assistant Professor Kim Ravnskjaer is principal investigator in the Functional Genomics and Metabolism Research Unit at Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, SDU, Denmark. He was recently awarded a Marie S. Curie Fellowship (2016), the Danish Mobilex Fellowship (2015), as well as the 2015 EFSD/Eli Lilly Fellowship. He is co-founder of ATLAS, a prestigious Centre of Excellence (2017-2023). Prior to joining SDU, he worked with Prof. Marc Montminy at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, La Jolla (US), to dissect epigenetic mechanisms underlying the deregulated hepatic glucose production in Type 2 Diabetes. Applying advanced mouse models for in vivo labeling combined with scaled-down sequencing strategies his team now focuses on understanding discrete cellular interactions leading to the development of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and hepatic fibrosis.
